Festivals are not new to me! I have been involved in rural festivals all my life, whether by participating in, entering students in, or being involved in the organization thereof.

 

I am very pleased to have such a dedicated executive to work with. We continue to explore the idea of expanding into areas of the Festival that have been dropped many years ago, because of lack of volunteers. Speech Arts and Band/Instrumental are two of these areas. It is very exciting to see the potential of growth within our local Festival!

 

We are striving to serve the community by offering an educational experience for students, adults and teachers. The experience of preparing something, whether musical or poetic, individual or in a group, and performing in front of peers and professionals, is a challenging and hopefully rewarding experience. It strengthens character and improves skills. We are emphasizing positive reinforcement through the adjudicators, while also giving entrants something to take home and work on. This balance provides the ultimate in education! We look forward to seeing many of you at the sessions this year.
